24th December 2015 Windsurfing: Llanrhystud Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 20 - 45 mph Surf / Sea State: White water walls Air Temperature: 7 Sea Temperature: 10 Weather: Dry with some sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: Wind was very up and down so rigged 3 sails and used 3 boards! Was only about 20 mph when I got there so I started on 5.5 but the wind picked up and I was a bit overpowered and the 99l board was too big for the waves. I was about to change to 5m and 85l when a massive gust went through. Jon's kite flew into a field of cows after he pressed the eject button and something broke! So I switched to 4.5 which was better but still a bit much at times and the waves were just walls of white water so hard to get through. So I then rigged the 4m which was OK until the wind dropped. I had a go on Jon's 74l wave board which was better in the white water but by then could have done with more wind. |
